Paula is a highly qualified and experienced Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist and Trainer who holds vast CDI credentials such as Registered Medical Coder, Certified Professional Coder for Clinical, Certified Professional Coder for Hospital, Professional Medical Coder, Certified Medical Billing and Coding Specialist, Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality, Certified Professional Account Representative, Certified Professional Account Technician and Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist and Trainer.
Paula is a healthcare professional who spent the first 15 years in clinical and then 25 years in managerial/adminstration in hospitals. She has trained over 250 Physicians in CDI and now offers in-person and online CDI training, assessments and audits. Paula has led and managed CDI across the United States, India, Philippines, Africa, South America, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait along with an even broader areas of the MENA region.
Her work has consistently delivered transformative results, making her a trusted authority in shaping and optimizing healthcare organizations to meet the evolving demands of modern healthcare delivery. Her strategic vision and proven expertise have enabled her to lead organizations through complex transitions, commissioning new healthcare facilities, restructuring underperforming institutions, and spearheading large-scale projects that deliver tangible and measurable outcomes. Paula’s leadership ensures that operational challenges are met with innovative solutions, driving efficiency and sustainable growth while always prioritizing the quality of patient care. A hallmark of Paula’s career is her ability to recognize and address the unique challenges faced by healthcare organizations across diverse regions. Paula’s passion for leadership development and team empowerment further sets her apart. Toni has over 26 years of experience in clinical documentation and is an Adjunct Professor of Medical Billing and Coding and Clinical Documentation Integrity. Her career spans hospital medical/surgical group practice as a clinical manager and educator. Toni is skilled in HEDIS, healthcare compliance, risk adjustment coding, clinical documentation integrity/improvement, medical billing and collections. Her career roles have included Medical Revenue Cycle Compliance, Management Consultant/Educator, and Coding Auditor.
